Since 1985, JMV Construction has provided site and structural concrete services throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. We are a family-owned-and-operated Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) that specializes in complex commercial projects.
Our HISTORY
João Mendes and Joaquim Vicente started JMV Construction in 1985 after honing their craft and building their expertise in the concrete trade. In 2009, Sergio Mendes joined JMV Construction full-time, after working for the company for more than five years during summer and winter breaks. Sergio represents the third generation to operate the family business.
Today, most of JMV Construction’s work is comprised of highly detailed and complicated projects for commercial clients. Among our portfolio of projects include those for NASA Goddard, the Pentagon, Fort McHenry Tunnel in Baltimore, Andrew’s Air Force Base, and the Naval Research Lab.
Throughout the years, JMV Construction has persevered through changes in the industry, economic recessions, and increasingly rigorous standards and regulations. As first-generation Americans, JMV Construction’s founders knew that hard work, integrity, and zero-tolerance for short cuts pay off. These values still serve as the foundation for the business today.
